About... » The evolution of 's3d'
's3d' began life as 'sea dreamer' in an avatar-based chat room back in 1999/2000. It was a humble, yet colourful beginning where the 'always on' lorded it over the 'pay-per-minute' masses. Unfortunately this relative Utopia wasn't to last long, as the Capitalist minority finally won over the Empire and instigated a pay-to-use facility on the whole world, forcing hundreds just like sea dreamer out into the cold and dirty Internet universe.
Lost and lonely, sea dreamer wandered for over a year in the void of the Web, flitting between sites and listlessly drifting from one link to the next. Then, at the end of 2001, sea dreamer saw a new light of possibility at the end of a very long, dark and binary-filled tunnel.
Harry Potter hype was building and there wasn't anywhere you could escape the chatter. However, a brief foray into the corrupt underbelly of the 'official' Harry Potter fora soon uncovered a rising faction of 'real' fans who actually wanted to talk about the concepts and fun of the books. The leader and instigator of this group unleashed a new kind of world for sea dreamer, who eagerly jumped into the gathering scrum in a bid to find a better community and home.
It was at this point that sea dreamer amended the name. Flying in the face of convention, this new community insisted on a name without spacings and so, without hesitation, sea dreamer became 'sea3dreamer'!
Having been absent from reality for over a year, sea dreamer soon became known for being outspoken and keen to discuss, and the signature of 'sea3dreamer: the original dreamer of seas...' was known by all who entered this wonderful new world. However, it wasn't long before a change to something more accessible for close friends was required and so the name was finally condensed to 's3d'.
Not much has changed since that time and the present day currently sees s3d as the chosen variant of sea dreamer. Found in many fora around the Web, s3d has finally found a good home or two, as well as a good many friends.
Note: s3d is just a name and is in no way involved in gaming or the use of 'l33t'...
